Annual General Meeting 2003

The Cottenham Village Design Group held its Annual General Meeting for 2003 on the 11th March at Cottenham Village College.

The meeting started with guest speaker Professor Marcial Echenique from Cambridge University. He gave an overview of the work of Cambridge Futures and how this has influenced planning decisions in the region, including reducing the number of houses at the 'Oakstanton' development after it was found that this was not the best way to expand Cambridge.

Professor Echenique also discussed their next phase of work, to be published in September 2003, which will look at the transportation that would be required over the long term.

The Design Group also awarded the prize for our Roof Competition, held last year, to Mr Alex Thoukydides. After this we heard a report on the 'Oakstanton' development, as a follow-up from last year's AGM. Finally, new officers were elected, replacing those who have served their maximum terms.

We also announced the launch of this website and plans to expand it in the future to include comments on planning applications and other information.
